BIOGRAPHY

Dwain Batey is an accomplished tournament kayak bass angler and talented artist, graphic designer and custom lure painter hailing from Siloam Springs, Arkansas. With a passion for fishing that dates back to his childhood.

Dwain really found his calling in the fishing world in 2015 when he first started kayak fishing, and has quickly made a name for himself on the tournament trails.

He had a standout performance in 2019 at the KBF National Championship where he placed 9th out of a field of 461 anglers.

Dwain also made some waves at the inaugural FLW/KBF Cup event in 2019 by finishing ...in 2nd place.
Dwain has fished 5 Hobie BOS events and his best finishes were 5th, 6th, and 11th with his worst finish still in the top 50.

Dwain was also the Arkansas State Champion in 2020 and the Natural State Kayak Anglers Angler of the Year in 2017 and 2021.

He has a truly impressive tournament kayak fishing record, with 25 wins, 11 second-place finishes, and 16 third-place finishes in 131 tournaments.

Dwain also finishes in the top ten just over 70% of the time with 92 top tens out of 131 events.

In addition to his tournament fishing achievements, Dwain has appeared on the TV show "Kayak Bassin'" and has had his stunning lure painting featured in Bassmaster, FLW, and Field and Stream magazines.

His custom painted lures have been used by top bass anglers in all of the major tours.

When he's not on the water, Dwain can be found in his role as Marketing Director at Ketch Products Inc., where he uses his skills in content creation, social media management, and digital art and graphic design to help the company succeed.

As an autistic adult, Dwain credits some of his success as a fisherman to the extreme concentration and attention to detail that comes with being on the autism spectrum. Despite facing challenges in everyday life, fishing has always been a constant source of joy and solace for Dwain. When he's not busy competing, you might even catch Dwain getting out of his kayak to pet a random dog on the shore!
